The date was announced as part of the state regulation on e-invoicing (E-Rechnungsverordnung of 11.1.2024, § 3). The relevant FAQ also prominently features this date.
Rheinland-Pfalz provides a “Central Invoicing Portal” (Zentraler Rechnungseingang RLP, “ZRE” – yes, same acronym as the Federal ZRE, but different!) for suppliers to submit their invoices. The RLP ZRE offers various channels, including upload and a web form. Additionally, suppliers can send invoices from a confirmed e-mail sender address to ZRE-rlp(at)Poststelle.rlp.de. The official state website publishes more details.
This mandate follows the previous mandate of suppliers in the state of Hessen which went into effect on 18.4.2024. This brings the number of states with e-Invoicing mandates 7 out of the 16 Länder in the Federal Republic. Consequently, e-Invoicing remains optional in the 9 remaining states.
Our country profile on Germany now reflects the new status as well.
