In preparation for the national e-invoicing mandate taking effect on August 1, the MDEC is hosting an event to increase awareness and foster collaboration between businesses and e-invoicing service providers.

The upcoming mandate will apply to all types of transactions (B2G, B2B and B2C), but will only affect the Malaysian private sector, as public entities will be exempt from issuing e-invoices.

The mandate will be implemented gradually based on company revenue:

  • August 1, 2024: mandatory for companies exceeding RM 100 million annual turnover (~20M€)
  • January 1, 2025: mandatory for companies exceeding RM 25 million annual turnover (~5M€)
  • July 1, 2025: mandatory for all companies

To enhance awareness of e-invoicing for business digitalization, specifically its role in increasing business efficiency and fulfilling tax requirements, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) — also Malaysia’s Peppol Authority — is organizing the National E-Invoicing Open Day on July 16 to promote e-invoicing adoption among businesses.

This event will enable businesses to explore, network, and identify suitable e-invoicing solutions from accredited Malaysia Peppol Service Providers (SP) and Peppol-Ready Solution Providers (PRSP), whose official listings were recently updated on July 12.

Storecove, our Gold Sponsor for Malaysia, will be attending the event and looks forward to welcoming you at their booth, located in spot C4.
